Introduction to Simulation

This page contains general information about the course "Introduction to Simulation", which usually takes place in the winter term. Information on the currently running course can be found here.

Summary

"Introduction to Simulation" (ItS) is a 2V+2Ü course held in the winter term at the Fakultät für Informatik of the Universität Magdeburg. "ItS" is a course designed to give students a basic knowledge of simulation and to provide them with first experience of using a simulation package. Some experience in programming and knowledge of first-year applied mathematics are recommended for this course.

The lectures (Vorlesungen) will be in English. Practical classes (Übungen) will be offered both in English and in German.

Goals of the Course

After completing this course, students will know the basics of simulation and modelling of both continuous and discrete systems. This prepares them for

in the field of Simulation.

ItS is thus designed to be a general entry to simulation studies in Magdeburg. Students planning to take simulation courses are strongly recommended to attend ItS.
